my experiences with God and life

spinning

Another late post. I hope this isn’t becoming a trend.

This might be a very short post since it is getting late and I do need to be up for church tomorrow. I am looking forward to whatever Rob will be teaching on at Apex tomorrow morning. His sermons always give my brain and my soul something to chew on.

“It always seems like life is going out of control like a rear-wheel drive truck on a sheet of ice.”

That was the phrase I wanted to use as a starting point for my blog entry, but it seems that I keep drawing a blank on how to use it. Consistantly coming up with ideas for posts isn’t all that easy. I don’t necessarily want to force a post either since I would much rather flow like ink from a pen and have some meaning to it other than the same old stuff.

I’ll be honest tho, sometimes life does seem like it’s spinning out of control and there is nothing we can really do about it. Which is true, many times, there is nothing we can really.

All things happen for a specific reason, and that reason is usually lost on us until well after. Or limited knowledge of the situation and the lasting effects of the circumstances keep us from seeing the big picture. Praise the Lord we don’t have that ability since we would probably try to alter it in some way to benefit us. And in that, we would completely miss the point of the reasons behind why it actually happened.

We do have one thing we can do; it’s basically all we can do to weather the storm. It’s to rely on God in all things; both the good and the bad. We can’t just choose to rely on God during the bad; it doesn’t work that way at all. Continually relying on Him that sustains us will help us remember that in all situations, it’s God that pulled us through. He sees the big picture and with Him, we can make it through any storm.

So even if life seems to be spinning out of control, if God’s at the wheel, He’ll see you through that patch of ice.
